Organize Series and Organize Series Publisher receive important updates for WordPress 3.7

WordPress 3.7 was dropped this past week and unfortunately it broke Organize Series in a critical way.  It kind of defeats the purpose of having Organize Series active if you can’t actually add posts to a series!  Yeah, that’s what happened.  Anyways,  I already had an update waiting in the wings to go but had a few more things I wanted to add to it before releasing.  Unfortunately this bug meant releasing Organize Series a bit earlier than planned.  Anyways, the fix is up on the WordPress repo and you can download it either here from the downloads page or  the WordPress Plugins page.

Very Important:

The fix for this bug means that going forward Organize Series requires WordPress 3.7.  This version of Organize Series will not work on any version of WordPress less than 3.7, so keep that in mind.  Update WordPress, before you update Organize Series.

The fix also applied Organize Series Publisher as well.  Everything mentioned above applies.

Hi Mike,
sorry about that. There was a change implemented with the db table name for the series icons that for some people is correclty being implemented and others is not.

I don’t know when I’m going to get an automatic fix out for this but in the meantime what you can do (if you are familiar with diving into the database) is:

1. backup your db
2. export all the data from the table named “orgSeriesIcons” in your db.
3. edit that export and change wherever it is “orgSeriesIcons” to “orgseriesicons” (all lowercase).
4. drop the “orgSeriesIcons” table on your db
5. import the edited export from earlier.

After doing the above steps your icons should be restored and it will work with orgseries going forward.

Hi and congrats for your amazing plugin! I’ve updated my version and now I cant change the number of post for the articles that are not yet published. Once I publish them I am able to correct the issue but it make almost worthless schedule a post.

The random change of number of the order it was something that has always appened but, at least, I was able to fix it later on.

Thanks for your help and for this plugin!

Thanks for the kind words Andrea.

I’ve tried unsuccessfully to reproduce your reported bug. I was able to change part number on draft, pending, and scheduled posts with no problems. Can you walk through the specific steps you can take to reproduce this problem?
